Moving Loads

Moving loads have always been an integral part of the design process, whether it be a truck moving across a bridge or a person walking through a building

In the past, engineers have developed many equivalent methods for dealing with moving loads. Today, ELS® offers a non-equivalent method for analyzing moving loads by performing dynamic calculations which account for response lag and changes to the structure generated by the load's previous location, whether it is structural movement, concrete cracking or plastic deformation, ELS’s use of dynamic analysis in moving loads provides a major step toward putting the most realistic analysis possible into the hands of the structural engineers.
